Volume 1 · Week 10 — Walking by Faith
Day 64 — Moving Forward Without Seeing Everything
Main verse
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
Meditation
We would often like to know the whole road before committing ourselves. We want to know where a decision will lead, how long a trial will last, and how what we undertake will end. This knowledge would give us a sense of greater control over our future.
But faith does not always hand us a detailed map. It gives us a presence we can trust. Walking by faith does not mean moving forward without thinking; it means acknowledging that our vision remains limited, even after we have prayed, studied, and sought counsel.
Abraham left his country without knowing his precise destination. In the wilderness, Israel followed a pillar that showed when to move and when to stop. The disciples answered Jesus’ call without yet fully understanding what their commitment would involve.
In each of these accounts, God did not necessarily light up the whole journey. He gave enough light for the next step.
We can confuse faith with absolute inward certainty. Yet it sometimes coexists with questions, hesitation, and even some fear. What marks it is not the absence of doubt, but the decision to keep relying on God’s faithfulness.
We may not have answers to all our questions today. But a biblical word, an informed conviction, or a responsibility clearly placed before us may show the next step.
Faith does not mean pretending to see what remains hidden. It means moving forward with the One who sees the whole road.
Psalm
Psalm 25:4–10 (KJV)
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. 6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. 8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. 9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. 10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Prayer
Lord, I would like to see the whole road before moving forward. Give me wisdom to think, courage to decide, and the faith I need to follow you when everything is not yet clear. May your Word light my next step and your presence be enough for me to continue. Amen.
A thought to keep
Faith does not always show me the whole road; it entrusts me to the One who knows it.
