About FleuveVie

A place for reading, reflection, and passing on a legacy, where biblical stories meet human experience—with care, depth, and hope.

Author and educator

Henry J. Noel

Henry J. Noel’s life and work have been shaped by education, languages, and the encounter between cultures. He attended Lycée Philippe Guerrier in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, earned a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College in New York, a Master of Arts from Andrews University, and a PhD from the University of Utah. He also pursued postgraduate studies at Long Island University and conducted research at Université Laval in Québec, Canada.

His career spans public schools, Christian education, and higher education. At Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts, he served as assistant professor of French, chair of the Department of Languages, and professor of education and psychology. He also taught French studies as an adjunct professor at Anna Maria College. These experiences inform his writing on faith, identity, human dignity, and the transmission of knowledge across generations.

The mission of FleuveVie

FleuveVie grew from a desire to reread biblical stories at a human level. Its purpose is not to replace Scripture, but to slow down before it, respect its silences, and consider the human, social, and spiritual consequences that a few verses sometimes allow us to glimpse.

The books bring together storytelling, meditation, and psychological exploration. They pay particular attention to voices rarely heard, wounded identities, displaced people, and the new beginnings made possible by truth, compassion, and grace.

The blog, the Book Journal, and the reader resources extend this approach. Together they make FleuveVie more than a library: a place of conversation where reading can become personal, shared, and transformative.

01

Faithfulness

Respecting the source text and clearly distinguishing what it says from what literary imagination proposes.

02

Dignity

Seeing each character as a person carrying a story, never merely as an example to be used.

03

Conversation

Opening a respectful dialogue among faith, psychology, culture, education, memory, and everyday life.

An invitation to readers

Read slowly. Ask honestly. Keep hoping.

FleuveVie welcomes those who want to rediscover biblical narratives as places where faith can meet the real questions of existence, rather than as fixed stories or ready-made answers.

It also accompanies study groups, book clubs, educators, and communities seeking respectful conversations about shame, exile, memory, inner truth, healing, and grace.

May every reading help us see a person before we look for a lesson.
