Volume 1 · Week 7 — The God Who Knows Us
Day 47 — He Knows the Way I Take
Main verse
“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
— Job 23:10 (KJV)
Meditation
Job is enduring a trial he does not understand. He seeks God but can no longer recognize his presence. Before him, behind him, to the right and to the left, everything seems silent. Yet in the midst of this darkness, he affirms, “He knoweth the way that I take.”
We sometimes go through seasons when our path becomes difficult to understand. We had a direction, but events overturned our plans. We move forward without knowing where we are or how long the crossing will last.
In these moments, we may fear that we have wandered beyond God’s sight. But even when we no longer know where we are going, God knows where we are. He knows the detours we chose, those circumstances forced upon us, and the paths we do not yet have strength to take.
This assurance does not mean that every decision we make is right. God can correct us and bring us back when we stray. Yet even our mistakes do not make us disappear from his sight. He knows where to find us.
Job’s road was neither short nor easy. His trust rested not on a complete explanation of his suffering, but on this conviction: his life remained known to God.
Today, we may feel disoriented without being abandoned. We do not need the whole map. The One who knows our road can give us the light we need for the next step.
Psalm
Psalm 139:2–3 (KJV)
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Prayer
Lord, you know the road I travel, even when I no longer understand it. You see my hesitations, my detours, and the obstacles that wear me down. Correct me when I stray and reassure me when I doubt. Give me today the light and courage I need to take the next step. Amen.
A thought to keep
When I no longer know where my road leads, God still knows where I am.
